PREPARING THE COOKER FOR OPERATION
CAUTION:
For operation always place the appliance on a level, stable, heat-
and moisture-resistant surface.
Do not operate the appliance on inclined
surfaces! Do not move or tilt the appliance during operation.
Leave at least
20 cm of free space to walls, curtains, boards and other objects on each side of the
appliance. Leave at least 1 m of free space above the appliance to avoid damage
due to steam, splashes and condensate and enable inserting and removing the
cooking pot. Do not operate the appliance under overhanging boards, lamps or
near delicate objects.
Before operation, always ensure that the exterior of
the cooking pot and the heating plate and temperature probe in the
heating compartment are clean and dry
(see: ‘Care and Cleaning’).
Do not
fill any liquids or food directly into the heating compartment!
1. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat- and moisture-resistant surface near a
suitable wall power outlet (see: ‘Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances’).
2. Open the lid by turning the lid knob
counter-clockwise and folding the lid
up until it is in the stable open positi-
on. Ensure that the lid of the appliance
is assembled completely and proper-
ly (see: ‘Reassembling the Appliance’)
and the valves and the safety locking
pin are completely clean and moving
freely.
3. Take out the steaming tray, trivet,
and cooking pot and ensure that the surfaces of the heating plate and temperature
probe in the heating compartment, and the exterior of the cooking pot are clean
without any residues sticking to the surfaces.
4. Ensure that the drip cup is empty and securely clicked in place at the rear of the
housing.
