Course-From-Fix Legs

Note the magenta lne n the bottom figure,
whch represents the currently actve leg of
the approach. The dstance (DIS) dsplayed on
the above screens s TO the “D13.0” pont. The
flght plan wll automatcally sequence to the
next leg upon reachng “D13.0”.
3. At 13.0 NM from the IAF, a waypont alert
(“DTK 265° x S”) wll appear n the lower rght
corner of the screen. Make a standard rate turn
to the rght to ntercept the final approach
course and watch for the CDI needle to begn
to center.
4. As you approach the ntermedate fix (CF25),
a waypont alert (“DTK 265° x S”) wll appear.
Make any necessary course adjustments.
5. Approach s actve when the FAF s the TO
waypont and bearng and track are wthn
45° of the final approach course. The 400W-
seres unt wll swtch from termnal mode to
approach mode. (“LNAV” wll appear n the
lower left corner of the screen—replacng
“TERM”.) CDI scalng wll be tghtened from
1.0 to 0.3 nautcal mle full scale deflecton,
or 2° full scale deflecton, whchever s less at
the FAF, and as defined for the approach. The
change occurs over 2 NM and s completed by
the FAF.
6. As you approach the FAF, “DTK 265° x S”
wll appear n the lower rght corner of the
screen.
7. As you cross the FAF, the destnaton sequences
to the MAP (MA25). Wth the CDI needle
centered, fly toward the MAP, observng the
alttude mnmums dctated by the approach
plate.
8. As you approach the MAP, a waypont alert
(“ARRIVING WPT”) wll appear n the lower
rght corner of the screen. The CDI wll contnue
to tghten to ±350 feet full-scale deflecton.
9. As you cross the MAP, “SUSP” wll appear
above the
OBS
key, ndcatng that automatc
sequencng of approach wayponts s sus-
pended at the MAP. If a mssed approach s
requred, use the
OBS
key to ntate the mssed
approach sequence, as outlned below.
TYPE 2: Course from fix to altitude
Course from fix to altitude
legs will show the specific
target altitude on the active flight plan and default
NAV pages. The missed approach sequence for the
Palmdale VOR/DME RWY 25 approach includes a
course from fix to altitude
leg. In this instance, the
leg corresponds to the initial phase of the missed
approach, which reads “Climb to 5000’ outbound via
PMD VOR R-282”.
1. After crossng the MAP, press the
OBS
key. The
mssed approach sequence s automatcally
offered, startng wth the course from fix to alt-
tude leg. The “DTK 282° NOW” alert appears
