Radar problems
Problem
Remedy
No picture appears after the
[TRANSMIT] icon is tapped on the
radar screen and transmission has
started.
Tap the [TRANSMIT] icon again.
Check if the antenna cable is tightly connected.
Check if the radar source setting is correct.
Points and characters appear but
no echo appears.
Check if the antenna cable is tightly connected.
Picture not updated or freeze-up.
Check the antenna cable.
Turn off and on this equipment.
Radar is properly tuned but gain is
poor.
Magnetron in the radar sensor may have deteriorated.
Contact a FURUNO agent or dealer for advice.
Range changed but radar picture
does not change.
Raise or lower the range on the radar screen.
Turn this unit off and on.
Many sea surface echoes appear
around own ship.
Adjust sea clutter reduction level.
Fixed range rings are not
displayed.
Check if fixed range ring brilliance is set to [OFF] on Instant
Access
TM
Bar or in [BRILLIANCE/COLOR].
When you tap the [TX] icon,
transmission screen appears but
the radar soon enters the stand-by
state.
This problem occurs when the overload protection has
activated. If this occurs, turn off all equipment in the network.
Wait a few seconds, then turn on all the equipment.

Fish finder problems
Problem
Remedy
You selected a fish finder display,
but no fish finder picture appears.
Check if the signal cable of the external fish finder is tightly
connected.
Check if the fish finder source setting is correct.
Check if the external fish finder is properly connected.
Points and characters appear but
no fish finder picture appears.
Check if the transducer cable is properly connected.
The fish finder picture appears but
zero line does not appear.
The picture may be shifted. Check the range shift setting
from [MENU]
→
[FISH FINDER SETTING]
→
[SHIFT]
menu.
Check if the draft setting is [0] or higher.
The picture gain is too low.
Carefully scrape off oysters and barnacles adhering to the
transducer face.
The depth indication does not
appear.
Manually adjust the gain to display the bottom picture in
reddish-brown.
Adjust the bottom detection level.
Heavy interference or noise
appears on the display.
Check if the transducer cable is routed near the engine.
Make sure that the equipment is grounded.
Check if another fish finder near your ship uses the same
frequency as your fish finder.
Change the interference rejection setting in [MENU]
→
[FISH FINDER SETTING]
→
[INTERFERENCE
REJECTION] menu.
