Chapter 10 Troubleshooting

10-3 Hardware Troubles
WARNING
Do not unplug the AC power supply or remove the battery abruptly during
operation.
Make sure to shut down the equipment using the power switch.
It could otherwise result in irreparable damage to the system files.
CAUTION
If any electrical parts need to be replaced, it is recommended to replace the entire
board whenever possible.
Most electrical parts on the board are soldered into a very small area, and attempts to
replace these on-board electrical parts present risks of damaging the board as well as
other electrical parts.
If the power cannot be turned off normally by pressing the [On] / [Off Stby] key,
keep pressing the key for about 10 seconds.
This forcibly turns the power off by hardware.
Make sure to check the boards and connectors after removing the battery from the
equipment.
Performing these checks while the equipment is energized could result in failure of the
equipment.
Do not plug/unplug cables with wet hands.
Electric shock, short circuit, or injury may result.
Note:
z
The "Cause" items described in the following pages merely indicate the possible causes of the
failure; and they may not necessarily be the actual causes. The order of items is irrelevant.
z
Multiple problems may be occurring at the same time. After the repair, be sure to perform a safety
check and confirm normal operation of the equipment.
