Priorities of Device Instance Numbers
Every system board has an onboard LAN port and onboard SCSI port for internal I/O.
It can also accommodate an optional PCIBOX having 12 PCI card slots. The
PRIMEPOWER 850 permits up to two boxes to be connected to each system board,
and the PRIMEPOWER650 permits one box to be connected to each system board.
Instance numbers are assigned to these basic interfaces and PCI cards according to
priority. For more information about priorities of instance numbers, see
Appendix D, "Instance Number Priorities and System Board Numbers."
