4.3 Preparing for PCIBOX Operation

- A PCI card that can only operate on 5 V can operate in a 5-V slot, but

cannot operate in a 3.3-V slot.

- A universal PCI card (a PCI card that can operate on either 3.3 V or 5

V) can operate in either type slot.

Size

- short: Indicates short size PCI card.

- long: Indicates long size PCI card.

Connecting signal cables

This section explains how to connect this unit via the signal cables to a

PRIMEPOWER850/650.

• Connection to PRIMEPOWER650

Only one PCIBOX can be connected to a PRIMEPOWER650.

The following signal cables are supplied with this unit:

CH-IF cable (2 m) x 1

LCI cable (3 m) x 1

Use these signal cables to connect PCIBOX to a PRIMEPOWER650 as shown in

Figure 4.4
