Setting the OS
Before using a DDS4 DAT drive, modify the /kernel/drv/st.conf file as follows:

Copy the original st.conf file:

Add the following lines to the /kernel/drv/st.conf file:

There must be exactly six spaces between HP and C5683A. If another tape-
config-list has already been defined, use a comma “,” as a separator and add
the new lines as shown in the following example.

Shut down the system:

Reboot the system, using the -r flag:
# cp /kernel/drv/st.conf /kernel/drv/st.conf.old
