SECTION 2
5 Using a Mobile Multi-Purpose bay Unit
❑
Cautions in using mobile multi-purpose bay units
When using a mobile multi-purpose bay unit, take the following precautions to avoid damage to
you computer or the unit installed in the mobile multi-purpose bay.
•
The internal “Optical disk drive” (included with your computer) and the optional floppy
disk drive are shock-sensitive, since they rotate discs at very high speeds. When either
of these drives is being accessed, do not move your computer from one place to another,
or do not shock or vibrate it, otherwise the drive could be damaged and data could be
corrupted.
•
Do not keep mobile multi-purpose bay units in an extremely hot or cold place or where
the ambient temperature changes significantly.
•
Do not place mobile multi-purpose bay units close to a heat generating appliance or
where they will be exposed to direct sunlight.
•
Do not keep mobile multi-purpose bay units in a shock- or vibration-prone place.
•
Do not use mobile multi-purpose bay units in a damp or dusty environment.
•
Never use a mobile multi-purpose bay unit if a foreign object, such liquid or metal chips,
has gotten in it. If a foreign object has gotten into your multi-purpose bay unit, consult
Fujitsu Customer Support Center or your retailer.
•
To clean a mobile multi-purpose bay unit, wipe it gently with a dry, soft cloth or a soft
cloth moistened with water or dilute detergent. Never use volatile liquids, such as benzene
and thinner.
•
Do not take apart or disassemble any mobile multi-purpose bay unit.
•
Do not use or keep mobile multi-purpose bay units close to a magnet or a similar object
that creates a strong magnetic field.
