Spread Spectrum Wireless Data Transceiver User Manual
Setup Port (D)
This setting determines which port, Main or Diagnostics, is used to enter the Set
Up Main Menu. Use this menu to specify which port may be used for that purpose.

Additional
Information
1
Main Only
The terminal is connected to the Main Data Port.
2
Diagnostics Only
The terminal is connected to the Diagnostic Port.
3
Both Ports
The terminal may be connected to either port.
This is set at the factory based on the type of transceiver. These settings are “2”
for Ethernet products, DOT and TTL options and ”3” otherwise. Setup mode is
invoked by sending a "U" (capital) to the Diagnostics port or by pressing/toggling
the Set-up button/switch, if available. OEM boards enter setup when Pin 2 is
grounded. This is NOT the Ethernet reset button.
The Main Data Port is the RS232 port. The Diagnostics port is a 3-pin connector
on the rear panel of the FGR-115RC and the FGR-115RE. An adapter cable for
this port (ASC0409DC) is available from FreeWave. In the FGR09xx OEM
modules, this part is a 2-row, 2 mm PCB female strip connector. An adapter cable
for this port ((ASC2009DC) is available from FreeWave.
Note: DO NOT change this setting unless the correct programming cable is
available for the new setting.
Turn On/Off Delay
(E)
Turn On Delay
- It sets the delay between when the line drivers are turned on and
when the data leaves the data port. This setting can be adjusted for a 1-9 msec
delay.
Turn Off Delay-
This setting specifies the time after the end of transmission of a
character to the RS485 bus that the transceiver stops driving the bus and releases
the bus to other devices on it. The units are ¼ of a character with a range of 1-9
msec. An entry of 4 means a delay equivalent to the duration of a full character.
Default is zero delay.
For data rates of 1200 b/s or slower, avoid setting the TurnoffDelay parameter
higher than 4. At those rates the functionality of the microprocessor changes so
that a TurnoffDelay of 5 will have the same effect as if set to 1, and a setting of 6
will have the same effect as 2, and so on.
Note:
Turn Off Delay must be changed to a value of 4 for Modbus operation.
FlowControl (F)
This menu specifies the hardware flow control for the Data port. The options for 0-3
are described below.
