Enable Policy Logging
By default, logging per policy is disabled. To enable policy logging use the
set policy command
with the
log option using the following syntax:
set policy
[global]

Using the Set Alert Command
Use the
set alert command to configure the connection rate and connection bandwidth policy for
all traffic. The
set alert command consists of the alert name, the threshold value, the interval
value and the action when the threshold is exceeded.
Using the network in
Figure 6-3
as an example, use the
set alert command to configure the
appliance to alert when the connection threshold exceeds 100 connection per
second for any pair of source and destination IP addresses on port 80 (HTTP).
set alert conn-rate name cr-webserver threshold 100 second action log once
set policy untrust to trust any any http permit alert cr-webserver
