The AUTOMATIC EQUALIZATION calculates the power of each input channel and automatically sets the
output level of the channels so that they are equalized at the 100dBμV level.
Before starting the automatic equalization, we recommend charging the OUT RF and TEST outputs at 75
Ω
to align all signals correctly.
The SAF-HD headend allows the modification of each gain value manually; select the MANUAL EQUALIZA-
TION to do it. By selecting this menu, all the gain settings of each filter will be displayed.

X: filter off;
A: filter with gain set automatically after performing the self-alignment
0..9: value of the gain set manually;
After selecting the filter, the output level of the channel can be changed by means of the
and arrows.
NOTES:
•
If the “A” level is set within the MANUAL EQUALIZATION menu, the filter maintains the last value it got
after the automatic equalization (level 7 if self-equalization has not been performed).
•
If the filtered input signal is out of range (the input signal level is not included between 50 and 73dB),
the AUTOMATIC EQUALIZATION might not work properly and the headend sets the level of the filter to
a default level that is 7.
•
The SAF-HD 7 provides 7 filters.
5.5 FM AND B.III/DAB LEVEL SETTINGS MENU
The SAF-HD headend permits gain changes for the FM+B.III+DAB input in an independent manner for the
FM and B.III/DAB bands.
The FM LEVEL menu permits gain regulation for the FM band from 1 (minimum gain) to 20 (maximum gain).
The B.III LEVEL menu permits gain regulation for the third band and the DAB band from 1 (minimum gain)
to 20 (maximum gain).
It is possible to disable the passage of the FM and B.III+DAB bands by setting the relevant levels to OFF.

The headend allows the enabling of the 12V remote power supply for mast amplifiers, if any, that are con-
nected to the UHF inputs. The maximum power supplied at 12V will be 200mA.
Remote power supply can be enabled separately for the three UHF1, UHF2 and UHF3 inputs.
When the remote power supply is enabled, the red LED on the side of the UHF selected input will be ON.
