MR-8mkII Owner’s Manual (Other functions)
You can reformat the CompactFlash
TM
Card by using the FAT16 file system. By reformatting the
card, all existing song data on the card is erased, while all setting data including the menu
settings are initialized.
<Note>:
You cannot undo card formatting. Therefore, before executing card formatting, make
sure that all song data on the card is not necessary.
1)
While the recorder is stopped, press the
[MENU/ENTER] key to enter the menu mode.
The display now shows the first page of the
menu selection screen, where "<< Back" is
highlighted initially.
2)
Rotate the JOG dial to select "System", and press
the [MENU/ENTER] key.
The display now shows the first page of the
system menu screen, where "<< Back" is
highlighted initially.
3)
Rotate the JOG dial to select "Card Format" on
the second page and press the [MENU/ENTER]
key.
The display show the screen where "Are You
Sure?" flashes. As this screen indicates,
formatting the card deletes all songs on the
card and you cannot undo card formatting.
To stop formatting, press the [STOP] key to exit
the menu mode.
4)
Press the [MENU/ENTER] key while holding
down the [RECORD] key.
Formatting starts.
Immediately after formatting completes, the
MR-8mkII enters the “Song” menu of the MENU
mode and the display changes to show the
screen for creating a new song (Song01).

Card formatting
On this screen, set the song mode (Normal or
LP) and the song name, and create a new song.

tails about how to create a new song.
