and therefore it is necessary to compensate for this loss
by a higher pressure, and for this reason, it is necessary
to install a pressure regulator to prevent the maximum
permitted operating pressure level from being exceeded,
see below in chapter Technical specifications.
POSSIBLE METHODS OF CONNECTION
(SEE DIAGRAM IN FIG. 3)
•
ATTENTION
y
The order of the treatment equipment in the diagram in
fig. 3 must be maintained during connection.
y
When using air treatment units, follow the information
provided in their user‘s manuals.
y
It is possible to use the following Extol® quick couplers
for connecting the treatment equipment and they can
be ordered under the provided order numbers.

coupler connectors with a G 1/4“ thread

Seal all threaded connections of the connected
components using teflon tape to prevent air
leakage.
Tightly wind teflon tape on to the thread (e.g. Extol
order no. 47532) and then gently push it against the
thread, see fig. 4.

y
It is possible to achieve the necessary mixture of
air and pneumatic oil with the correct pressure in
three different ways
(air treatment equipment is lis-
ted below with order numbers are shown in brackets)
:
A) USING THREE TREATMENT UNITS
(1 + 1+ 1)
y
Oil lubricator (8865102)
y
Pressure regulator with pressure gauge (8865103)
y
Filter (8865101)
PROCEDURE
1. Fill the oil lubricator (oiler) with pneumatic oil
and screw it into the thread at the air inlet to
the impact wrench.
•
ATTENTION
y
The air outlet from the lubricator (with the addition
of pneumatic oil) must not enter the air pressure
regulator or the separator because oil would accu-
mulate inside them, which is undesirable. For this
reason, the order of the treatment units must be
maintained.
y
The oil lubricator must be installed directly at the
tool‘s air inlet so that the pneumatic oil enters
the tool and does not remain in the hose or other
devices.
2. Into the thread of the oil lubricator, screw in
a pressure regulator, then from the other side
of the regulator install a male quick coupler.
y
Connect the male and female quick couplers by
sliding them into each other.

3) Connecting the impact wrench to a com-
pressor - air treatment
•
WARNING
y
The air impact wrench is powered by compressed air
that must be free of moisture-condensate and must
contain a pneumatic oil additive. For this purpose, there
is peripheral equipment pictured and described in the
diagram on fig. 3, which must be installed in front of the
air flowing into the impact wrench in the provided order.
y
Compressed air that is not dehydrated and that
does not contain a pneumatic oil additive will
damage the internal parts of the air impact wrench.

must be purchased separately.
DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTION OF AIR
TREATMENT UNITS
Filter (condensate separator)
- removes water (con-
densate) from the compressed air that forms inside the
compressor by the compression of water vapour that is
contained in air. The filter must be an independent device
or be combined with a pressure regulator and possibly
also with a lubricator. Likewise, it may be an integral part
at the air outlet from the compressor (factory installed on
the compressor).
Oil lubricator (oiler)
- adds pneumatic oil to the current
of compressed air, which then enters into the equipment
where it protects its components against jamming and
rapid wear. The lubricator must be an independent device
or be a part of the system with a pressure regulator and
possibly also with a filter (separator).
Note:
y
The treatment unit 8865105 has within it a pneumatic
oil atomizer that creates an oil mist.
Pressure regulator
- makes it possible to set the correct
air pressure that is necessary for the optimal and safe ope-
ration of the impact wrench, as it may occur that the max.
operating air pressure for the impact wrench is exceeded
at the outlet from the compressor, or when a longer air
hose is used a natural pressure loss occurs at the outlet,
