V. Preparation for using
the impact wrench
•
ATTENTION
y
Before using the impact wrench, carefully read the enti-
re user‘s manual as the manufacturer takes no respon-
sibility for damages on the tool or product caused by
inappropriate use that is in contradiction with this
user‘s manual. Keep the user‘s manual with the product
so that its user may become acquainted with it. Prevent
this user‘s manual from being destroyed.
1) Selecting a sufficiently powerful compressor
y
Air impact wrenches have a large air consumption
and, therefore, to achieve maximum performance,
the compressor must have a sufficient flow rate. In
the case of non-continuous work with sufficiently
long breaks between the use of the impact wrench,
it is possible to compensate the insufficient flow
rate of the compressor by a sufficient volume of the
pressure vessel, for further information see chapter
Technical specifications.
2) Selecting an air hose for connection
to the compressor
y
To ensure the max. performance of the impact
wrench, the air hose must have an inner diameter
of at least 9 mm to enable a sufficient air flow
rate, which is important for the performance of the
impact wrench, see chapter Technical specificati-
ons. This may be, for example, unwindable PVC air
hose Extol® Premium 8865142 with inner braiding
and quick couplers, with an inner diameter of 9 mm
and a length of 10 m for max. pressure of 15 bar.

y
To connect the impact wrench to a compressor, it is
necessary to select an air hose that is designed for
compressed air.
y
The air hose is marked with the max. air pressure
value, which must not be exceeded due to safety
reasons. Thus, the air pressure value determined for
powering the impact wrench must not be higher
than the pressure value shown on the hose.
y
The hose ends must be fitted with a male quick
coupler and a female quick coupler which are used
to connect the hose to other equipment.

AIR HOSE
y
For maximum performance of the impact wrench, an
unwindable (not spiral) hose with an inner diameter of
9mm must be used; further information about the hose
is available in chapter Technical specifications.

OIL FOR PNEUMATIC TOOLS
For operational reasons, it is necessary to regularly
lubricate pneumatic tools with oil designed for
pneumatic tools, which is available on the market
from a number of manufacturers. Oil designed for
pneumatic tools does not froth and is not aggressive
against sealing elements in the tool. Using an
impact wrench without sufficient lubrication with
oil designed for pneumatic tools will result in its
damage.

Other models differ in their appearance but the con-
trol elements have the same function.
Depending on the model, the rotation direction
selector can be used to set individual levels for
tightening or loosening torque as well as speed. The
torque of individual tightening and loosening levels
is provided in the technical specifications table. The
number of loosening or tightening levels differs
depending on the impact wrench model.
