Pedestal 

This selection is used to enable or disable the 7.5 IRE pedestal on NTSC output.  Turn the knob to highlight On or Off 
and press SEL.  The default is On for NTSC.  This control is not available for PAL.  When PAL is selected, pedestal is 
disabled. 

 
Reset All 

This selection resets Brightness, Pedestal, Contrast, Saturation, and Hue to the nominal setting. Turn the knob to 
highlight ResetAll and press SEL to perform this operation. The output displayed on the video monitor will reflect the 
changes. 
 

Test Patterns 

The TEST PAT button will turn test patterns on or off.  The button will illuminate when test patterns are on. The 
previously selected test pattern is displayed (or the default test pattern) on the output video device and the following 
menu is displayed: 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
As the knob is turned, the test pattern name is displayed and the corresponding test pattern is generated on the 
output device. The select key is used to maintain the test pattern and exit the test pattern menu. Pressing escape will 
cancel test patterns and exit the test pattern menu. A scroll bar on the right indicates the relative position of the test 
pattern selection within the list of all available test patterns. 
 
Doing any of the following terminates the test pattern menu: 

•

 

Pressing the ESC key: changes are not saved, test patterns remain active 

•

 

Pressing the TEST PAT key: test patterns are turned off 

•

 

Pressing another hot key: selected test pattern remains 

 
The TEST PAT key is illuminated any time a test pattern is being generated. The TEST PAT key is not illuminated if 
test patterns are not being generated. 

TPAT

 will also be displayed on the system status screen when test patterns 

are being generated. 
 
Many system features are not available if test patterns are enabled. These features include:

 Freeze

 Pan 

•

 Zoom 

•

 

Input Picture Adjustments

 View 

Recalls 

 
 
 
Output picture adjustments are only available when test patterns are enabled. They include: 

•
