ViewMAX – High Performance Down Converter
Manual # 26-6090901-00 / Revision D
When first displayed, the current Genlock State / Mixer mode setting is highlighted.
FreeRun indicates that the Genlock source is not used.
Genlock indicates that the current source connected to the Genlock input is being used to synchronize the
output video signal. If no source for Genlocking is available, the output picture will behave erratically.
Window indicates that the scaled input video is displayed over the background video source. See the MxSrc
menu item description for selecting the background video source and KeyClr for selecting the luma or
chroma mixing choices.
FgKey indicates that the background will be visible on the output NTSC/PAL monitor whenever the
foreground (input video source) color matches the keying color.
BgKey indicates that the foreground video will be visible on the output NTSC/PAL monitor whenever the
background color matches the keying color.
As the knob is turned, the current Genlock or background-mixing mode is updated and the output video display will
reflect the changes. Press SEL of ESC to exit the menu and return to the Setup Menu. The last highlighted selection
will be maintained after SEL or ESC is pressed.
Once the main board Genlock is enabled, the Configuration Menu will contain one additional selection to allow
adjustments of the Genlock Horizontal Phase and Sub Carrier Phase.
Genlock Horizontal and Sub-Carrier Phase Adjustments
The following menu is displayed when Genlock is enabled from the Genlock selection menu in the Setup menu.
Genlock Horizontal Phase Adjustment
The horizontal phase adjustment allows the user to advance or delay the ViewMAX encoded composite signal in
relation to the Genlock signal. In order to allow for cable or other system delays, ViewMAX output can be adjusted in
37.037 ns (nanoseconds) steps which corresponds to ½ pixel, between 400 half-pixels of delay and 270 half pixels of
advance. Delay times are indicated by a negative adjustment value. This function is only available if the Genlock
source is enabled. Selecting
Horiz Phase Adj
will display the following control to adjust the horizontal phase in steps
of 37ns:
