CyTOF XT User Guide

Check the nebulizer seal washer for damage and replace it if needed.  

a

 

If the seal washer is damaged, remove it from the assembly using a 100 µL pipette tip.  

b

 

Replace the seal washer so that it sits in the circular notch of the block. 

 

NOTE

 

If the seal washer is not damaged, removal is not required.

Clean the seal washer by wiping the accessible surface with a Kimwipe moistened with 
isopropanol.

Replace the threaded cap on the spring block assembly and tighten it using the torch 
removal tool. Place the assembly in the nebulizer mount. 

NOTE

 

The threaded-cap end of the spring block assembly should be inserted first into 

the nebulizer mount. 

IMPORTANT

 

If the seal washer/threaded cap can be seen after the spring block 

assembly has been placed in the nebulizer mount, it has been inserted incorrectly. 
Remove and flip it over, then reinstall.
