10.5.2.2 Assembling the cooling unit
1. Place two new flat gasket rings (40.00) and (40.01)
on the flanged surfaces of the spindle pump
housing.
2. Lower the cover plate, together with the cooling
spiral, from above and insert the cooling spiral in
the ring room of the spindle pump housing. Pay
attention to the installation direction of the cooling
helix:
3. In direction of flow (from flowmeter): Spiral begins
at the top on the opposite of discharge-side, winds
2½ revolutions to the discharge side (lowest point
of the helix) and then runs directly upwards to the
outlet on the discharge side.
4. Fix the cover plate to the spindle pump housing
with the 20 hexagon screws M6 (90.15).
Torque M6 (90.15): 7.4lb ft [10Nm]
5. Fill the coolant through the remaining opening in
the cover plate.
Note: The cooling jacket of the spindle
pump housing must not be fully filled with coolant
because an air cushion must remain to
compensate for the heat-related increase in the
volume of the coolant in the spindle pump housing.
Coolant filling quantity: 9.0 l. 60:40
Water:Glycol
6. Check the coolant fill level and insert the venting
screw (91.30) in the filling inlet of the cover plate
(64.92). 0.5-0.75 inch[1.5-2 cm]
10.5.2.3 Assembling the spindle pump housing
Caution! Handling of heavy parts
Therefore:
When mounting of the complete SIHIdry
Pump Chamber load of at least 60lb [25 kg]!
Take the utmost care during the lowering process so
that the pump housing does not tip with the pair of
spindles. If this should happen, however, the pump
housing must be raised a little and the lowering
procedure started again. The spindle units have very
little play to the inner wall of the pump housing.
