Power-Up Procedure
To power up the FLEX-5000A
1. Connect the FLEX-5000A to the computer and the power supply. (see
Installing the
FLEX-5000A
on page 18 for more detailed information). Check the connections to ensure
good contact.
2. Boot up the computer and make sure PowerSDR is ready to be launched (no hour glass
cursor).
3. Turn on the power supply for the radio and press the FLEX-5000A power switch. After a few
seconds you will hear the internal power relay click and see the blue LED illuminate. The
FLEX-5000A will be recognized by Windows and its driver will be available for PowerSDR to use.
4. After waiting at least 30 seconds, start up PowerSDR. It will automatically recognize the
FLEX-5000 driver. You are now ready to operate.
To power up the FLEX-5000C
1. Connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard to the FLEX-5000C. (see
Installing the
FLEX-5000C
on page 14 for more information) and connect the FLEX-5000C to the power
supply.
2. To start both the radio and the internal computer, turn on the power supply and press the
FLEX-5000C power switch. After a few seconds you will hear the internal power relay click and
see the blue LED illuminate as well as the green light on the wireless keyboard controller.
a. Press and release the
connect
button on the wireless keyboard controller.
b. Press and release the
connect
button on the bottom of the keyboard. Wait at least 20
seconds before the next step.
c. Press and release the
connect
button on the wireless keyboard controller again.
d. Press and release the
connect
button on the bottom of the mouse.
e. Move the mouse and check for pointer motion on the display.
3. At this point you should see the Windows opening screen.
4. After waiting at least 30 seconds, start up PowerSDR. It will automatically recognize the
FLEX-5000 driver. You are now ready to operate.
