Connection
The
fire
department
connection
(FDC)
piping
and
components
must
be
field
installed
as
shown
on
the
system
design
documents.
The
point
of
connection
for
the
FDC
to
the
water
mist
system
varies
according
to
the
system
design
pressure
as
indicated
below:
1.
Where
the
system’s
design
pressure
is
less
than
or
equal
to
175
psi
(12
bar),
the
FDC
connection
shall
be
made
after
the
fire
pump
on
the
supply
side
of
the
pump
skid,
as
shown
in
Figure
47.
Installation
of
the
FDC
in
this
manner
requires
that
a
strainer
or
filter
be
installed
in
the
FDC
supply
line.
