4.1.8 Pulse-width histogramming
The pulse width of the analog input pulse at the threshold level can be measured in units of 64 ns, the pulse
width data is inserted into the highest 12 bits of the RTC data, the length of the timestamp data is then only
32 bits instead of 44 bits. A histogram of the pulse width distribution can be acquired, and a two dimensional
spectrum showing the pulse height versus pulse width can be created. It is possible to reject events if the
pulse width is larger than a specified limit. See in Fig. 4.15 how to create a pulse width histogram and set a
limit for the maximum pulse width. Note that if “Reject” is enabled, the data is still in the list file and the event
is rejected only in the histograms. So when evaluating a list file, the pulse width limit still can be changed.
