When operating or servicing the equipment, tie back long hair and do not wear loose-fitting
clothes, ties, necklaces, rings or wristwatches which could become entrapped by moving parts.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TYRE CHANGER
This model is a universal electro-pneumatic tyre changer, to be used with wheels with drop centre
featuring weights and dimensions as described in the technical data section.
It is designed to work effectively on:
- Conventional wheels;
- Reverse rim wheels or wheels without central hole (use optional kit);
- Run-flat tyres with reinforced sidewalls*.
*
WARNING
: There are specifically studied procedures for this type of wheels.
NB:
It may be difficult and sometimes impossible to clamp and/or demount wheels of Vintage cars (cars
out of production for over 30 years), some types of rally wheels and non-standardized street wheels.
The machine is solidly constructed. It operates with the wheel in an horizontal position for both bead
breaking and demounting/mounting operations.
All machine movements are controlled by the operator by means of pedals on the pedal unit and
manual controls on the console.
The tyre changer can be used to easily break, demount and mount any type of the above tyres.
In any stage, the tyre changer operates with a clamped and perfectly centred horizontal wheel on
the turntable.
Wheel loading and unloading operations are simplified by an ergonomic wheel lift which minimizes
the operator effort required.
The main advantage of the model is that it does not require a bead lifter lever.
Its absolutely innovative operating principle comprises:
- A wheel positioning system that makes use of the wheel inner side and the machine axial mounting
turntable as references (an optional reverse rim kit is supplied for rims with drop centres on the
inner side).
- An efficient pneumatic wheel clamping system, which makes use of the rim central hole by means of
handle and cones (an optional clamping kit is supplied for rims with no central hole).
- A pneumatic bead breaking unit consisting of two bead breaker disc holders. Its pneumatic ver-
tical movement is independent and activated from the console; the disc horizontal positioning is
manual, mechanically or pneumatically activated from the console and it allows the simultaneous
positioning of the bead breaker discs. The upper bead breaking arm could be unlocked by means
of an on-purpose button positioned on the console, thus performing an independent withdrawal
movement for free working area access. While the lower arm remains at the correct bead breaking
position, the upper one is equipped with a patented pneumo-mechanical memory of the original
bead breaking position (allowing to perform in series the bead breaking activity on wheels having
the same diameter). The success of the bead breaking activity is ensured by a specific disc pe-
netration movement controlled by an on-purpose control. The disc release is automatically driven
by the reverse movements of the bead breaker arms (upwards for the upper arms, downwards for
the lower one).
NOTE
:
The disc of the upper bead breaking arm can be manually rotated of 180° during the dismounting
of the lower bead on particularly large reverse rim wheels.
- A head, installed on a mobile column with lateral tilting system, consists of a fixed supporting
nucleus that facilitates tyre mounting and a pivoted mobile fixed nucleus that facilitates an optimal
tyre demounting without using the bead lifter lever*.
