Pad and Trigger Settings (UTILITY)
Curve (Trigger Curve)
This setting lets you control the ratio between velocity and volume
changes (Dynamic Curve). Adjust this curve until the resonance feels
as natural as possible.
Normal: The default setting. This ensures a natural match
between the intensity of the stroke and the change in
volume.
Exp1/2: Compared to normal, a powerful stroke will cause
a greater change.
Log1/2: Compared to Normal, a light touch will cause a greater
change.
Loud: Changes in the resonance to the striking force are small.
If you use drum triggers, these settings will help you to
keep the levels constant.
Retrig-C (Retrigger cancel)
Connecting snare drum pads and other devices to commercially
available acoustic drum triggers may result in altered waveforms,
which in turn can lead to unwanted sounds or retriggering. This hap-
pens mainly at the edge of the waveform. Retrigger Cancel detects
such distortions and prevents retriggering. Even if you can prevent
retriggering by setting the setting to a high value, this can cause the
sounds to disappear completely when you play the drums fast (e.g.
drum roll). Therefore it is recommended to set the lowest possible
value.
X-Talk (Cross Talk)
If two pads are attached to the same stand, the vibration of one
pad can inadvertently trigger a sound in the other pad (this is called
crosstalk). You can adjust Crosstalk Cancel on the pad that causes
the unwanted sound to prevent this. If the value is set too high while
playing the pads at the same time, the pad that is not hit hard en-
ough will not produce any sound. Therefore, you should be careful
and set the parameter to the minimum value. If it is set to "0" the
crosstalk prohibition will not work.
Rim-Adj
Sometimes you may produce an unwanted rim sound when you hit
the head hard. You can prevent this by decreasing this value.
If you have selected Snare/Tom1~Tom4 or trigger the rims, the
RimShot parameter will display, if not, "---" will be displayed.
Splash-S
When P HIHAT or Splash is selected, the parameter displays the
Splash sensitivity. If incorrect triggers have been selected, "---" is
displayed.
