Please read the preceding section before going on to read
these instructions for use!
4.1 SUCTION TUBE
● Connect the suction catheter (Figure 4, ➌) to the suction
tube (Figure 4, ➊) with the aid of the Fingertip (Figure 4, ➋).
4.2 SETTING THE VACUUM
● Set your desired vacuum by keeping the auxiliary air opening
of the Fingertip (Figure 4, ➍) closed and allowing the vacuum
to build up. Then turn up the vacuum control (Figure 1, ➋)
until the vacuum gauge indicates the desired vacuum.
● Choose a suction catheter (Figure 4, ➌) with the correct
size or a suctioning set, which can be purchased via
specialist dealers.
● Connect the suction catheter to the suction tube as described
in Section 4.1.
4.3 SUCTIONING
● Now, insert the suction catheter as you have been shown by
the specialist staff and start the suctioning process.
● Control the suctioning process by means of the auxiliary air
opening (Figure 4, ➍) on the Fingertip.
● The oversuctioning protector reliably prevents the
penetration of fluid into the pump. You should nevertheless
empty the container when is half full though.
4.4 RINSING THE TUBE
● After each suctioning process, dispose of the suction
catheter and briefly flush the suction tube with clean water
or disinfectant (see Section 6). You will find it helpful to use
a rinsing bottle in which clean water can be kept available.
4.0 GENERAL OPERATION
N
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS!
Caution: Do not perform suctioning in the airways until
you have been briefed by specialist staff.
Only use special sterile single-use suction catheters for
suctioning. Always use a new suction catheter for each
suctioning process.
Take care to ensure that the secretion container is emptied
in good time. As soon as the secretion container is half full,
the container must be emptied (this applies to all fields of
application)!
If the secretion container is overfilled (which must be
avoided), the overflow protector responds and the device
does not suction anymore. Empty the container and replace
the filter!
Check the vacuum gauge regularly!
If secretions have been aspirated into the pump due to
incorrect use or manipulation, the device must be repaired
by the manufacturer or by an authorised specialist company.
Use suitable suction catheters, suctioning extensions or
suctioning sets for suctioning.
Keep an eye on the fluid level in the secretion container
during the suctioning process.
