Using a voltmeter set to DC volts. Connect
the ( -) probe of the meter to the ( - ) buss
bar. With the positive meter lead measure
at the terminal on the key switch that has a
yellow wire #64 attached to it .
( This wire runs from the controller to the
key switch. )
Is 36 Volts
present at this
terminal?
Using a voltmeter set the meter to DC volts.
Connect the ( -) probe of the meter to the ( - )
buss bar. With your positive meter probe,
back probe the #8 terminal on the 20 pin
Molex connector on the controller.
Is 36 Volts
present at this
terminal?
Repair break in the wiring
between the #8 terminal and
the key switch.
YES
Measure the
voltage across the
main battery
terminals on the
controller
NO
Is 36 Volts
present across these
terminals?
The controller has failed.
Replace the controller
YES
There is a battery or
battery cable problem.
Check the battery system
NO
NO
Turn the key
switch to the “ON”
position and
measure the
voltage at either of
the terminals with
red wires on them
Is 36 Volts
present at this
terminal?
YES
Replace the key
switch
Using a voltmeter set to DC volts. Connect
the ( -) probe of the meter to the ( - ) buss
bar. With your positive probe back probe the
#18 terminal on the 20 pin Molex connector
on the controller.
YES
NO
Is 36 Volts
present at this
terminal?
Replace controller
YES
There is a break in the wiring from
the key switch to the controller. Find
and repair the break in the wiring.
NO
