Connecting to the Client/Server Network
The replacement switch must be connected to a machine on the network
with:
• a new software-release file and
• the running-config file from the failed ARX.
If the replacement switch is running a release earlier than 6.0.0, the
interview script only connects the switch to your out-of-band management
network. If you are running 6.00.000 or later, or if your ARX release files
and running-config files are accessible through the out-of-band network,
you can skip this section. These steps are required for systems that need to
access the client/server network.
To access the client/server network, enable at least one client/server VLAN
with at least one member interface and a management IP and establish a
default route on that VLAN’s IP network. This example reaches a
client/server network on VLAN 74:
