CCS 165-BL 20V PLUS
Operation switch
To start the tool, pull the trigger style operati-
on switch (Fig. 17.1). Tool speed is increased by
increasing the pressure on the switch. The Laser
light (Fig. 18.1) will be also powered when the
operation switch is engaged.
To stop the tool, release the operation switch. The
Laser light will stop immediately after the operati
-
on switch is released.
WARNING
Do not stare directly at the beam of light to avoid eye
damage.
NOTE
To prevent the operation switch to be accidentally
engaged a safety switch (Fig. 17.2) is in place. Make
sure you unlock the safety switch if you wish to ope-
rate the machine and do not forget to lock the safety
switch when you are finished.
Cutting guide
The cutting guide allows you to do extra-accurate
straight cuts. It also makes repeated cuts of same
width possible. Secure the guide to the desired
width with the clamping screw (Fig. 19.2) on the
front of the base. To use, simply slide the guide up
against the side of the work piece (Fig. 19.1).
Cutting operation
When machining a work piece make sure that you
press the base firmly against it and that it is secu
-
rely clamped in place. This will reduce vibrations
that could cause failure of the blade and machine
or personal injury. Do not allow the tool to boun
-
ce. To start the cutting operation, first bring the
saw blade to full speed while out of contact with
the work piece. Then move the tool forward over
the work piece surface, keeping it flat and advan
-
cing smoothly until the cut is completed.
WARNING
Wear appropriate protective equipment (gloves,
glasses, etc.) and use both handles of the machine
while operating.
WARNING
Use the correct type of saw blade depending on the
material to be machined. The saw blade provided
with the machine is intended only for wood pro
-
ducts.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Every six months to one year (depending on
frequency and intensity of use), take your machi
-
ne to the nearest service station facility for the
following service operations:
f
Lubrication.
f
Mechanical inspection and cleaning (gears, bearin
-
gs, etc.).
f
Electrical inspection (switch, cord, brushes, etc.).
f
Testing to assure proper mechanical and electrical
operation.
WARNING
For your own safety, turn the switch off and re
-
move plug from its power source outlet any ope
-
ration of maintenance on the machine. Keep your
appliance clean. To avoid motor damage, blow out
or vacuum frequently this motor to keep saw dust
from interfering with normal motor ventilation.
AIR INLETS
Make sure that all cooling air inlets of the machine
are clean and free of debris.
LOWER GUARD
To check the lower guard (Fig. 20.1) for proper
function:
Turn the machine off and disconnect it from its
power source.
Set the bevel angle to 0°.
Retract the lower guard manually (Fig 20.2) to the
end and release it. The lower guard is properly
functioning when it is retracted above the base
(Fig. 20.3) without struggle and it automatically
returns (Fig. 21.4) and contacts with the stopper
(Fig. 21.5).
BATTERY
To maintain battery to its maximum performance:
f
Recharge the battery before completely dischar
-
ged. Always stop operating the machine and
recharge the battery when you notice a loss of
power.
f
Never recharge a fully charged battery as over
-
charging shortens the battery life.
f
Recharge the battery at room temperature (5°C -
45°C). Let a hot battery cool down before rechar
-
ging it.
f
When not using or recharging the battery, remove
it from the tool or the charger.
f
Recharge the battery if you do not use it for a long
period (more than six months).
f
Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.
f
Do not crush, open or burn the battery. Exposure
to potentially harmful materials may occur.
f
In case of fire use C0
2
dry chemical extinguisher.
f
The battery must be charged by a constant
current, constant voltage transformer.
f
Store the battery in a dry, well-ventilated area
within the recommended limits of 10°C to 30°C.
Allow the battery to return to normal temperatu
-
re if it has been stored at 5°C or less, before using
or charging it.
f
During disposing the battery should be recycled
separately from the charger and the machine,
according to electrical and electronic equipment
waste directive. Insulate the terminals with adhes
-
ive insulating tape to prevent a short circuit, fire or
explosion occurring.
POWER CORD
To avoid shock or fire hazard, if the power cord of
the charger is worm or cut, or damaged in any way,
have it replace immediately. Electrical connection
cables often suffer insulation damage. Possible
causes are:
1.
Punch points when connection cables are run
through window or door gaps.
2. Kinks resulting from incorrect attachment or
laying of the connection cable.
3. Cuts resulting from running over the connec
-
ting cable.
