Read all of manual to become thoroughly familiar with this vehicle. Pay particular attention to all Notes, Cautions and Warnings
Accelerator Pedal
If key switch is ‘ON’ and
foot operated parking
brake is set, depressing
the accelerator inadvertently will release the parking
brake and will cause the vehicle to move which could
cause severe personal injury or death.
Depressing the accelerator pedal starts the engine.
When the pedal is released, the engine will stop. To stop
the vehicle more quickly, depress the service brake.
Depressing the accelerator pedal also releases the foot
operated parking brake (Ref. Fig. 6 on page 3).
Combination Service and Parking Brake
Pedal for Mechanical Brakes
The brake pedal incorporates a parking brake feature
(Ref. Fig. 6 on page 3). To engage, push down on the top
section of the pedal until it locks in place. The parking
brake will release when the service brake pedal is
depressed. Use the bottom section of the brake pedal to
operate the service brake system.
When leaving the vehicle unattended, engage the park-
ing brake by depressing the top of the brake pedal until it
locks in place. To release the parking (PARK) brake,
depress the bottom portion of the brake pedal.
Depressing the accelerator pedal will release the parking
brake if it is engaged. This is a feature to assure the vehi-
cle is not driven with the parking (PARK) brake engaged.
This is not the preferred method of releasing the parking
brake.
For mechanical brakes, depressing the bottom
of the brake pedal is the preferred method of
releasing the parking (PARK) brake to assure the longest ser-
vice life of brake components.
Service Brake Pedal for Hydraulic Brakes
Depressing the foot operated service brake pedal acti-
vates the brakes (Ref. Fig. 7 on page 3). Depressing the
accelerator pedal will also release the parking brake if it
is engaged. This is a feature to assure the vehicle is not
driven with the parking (PARK) brake engaged. This is
not the preferred method of releasing the parking brake.
Parking Brake for Hydraulic Brakes
The hand operated parking brake is located between the
seats on the seat console (Ref. Fig. 7 on page 3). The
brake is engaged when the handle is raised and is disen-
gaged when the handle is parallel with the seat bottom.
To release the parking brake, depress the release button
in the end of the handle while slightly raising the handle,
then lower the parking brake handle to its lowest point.
Horn
The horn can be activated by depressing the horn button
located on the floor to the left of the brake pedal on vehi-
cles equipped with mechanical brakes (Ref. Fig. 6 on
