Connection Options
The DMP 64 Digital Matrix Processor can be remotely connected via a host computer or
other device (such as a control system) attached to the rear panel RS-232 port or LAN port,
or the front panel USB Config port.
The DMP 64 can be set up and controlled using the Extron
SIS (Simple Instruction Set) commands, embedded Web pages, or DSP Configurator
software. See chapter 2 for pin assignments and details on the configuration and control
port connections. For information on DSP Configurator see
DMP Software
and for the
embedded Web pages, see
HTML Operation
.
SIS commands may be executed using the Extron Electronics DataViewer program, which
may be found on the
Software Products DVD
included with the product.
DMP 64 RS-232 protocol:
• 38400 baud
• no parity
• 8 data bits
• no flow contro
• 1 stop bit
NOTE:
Both rear panel configuration ports require 38400 baud communication.
This is a higher speed than many other Extron Electronics products use. The
DMP 64 control software automatically sets the connection for the appropriate
speed. If using HyperTerminal or a similar application, make sure the PC or
control system connected to these ports is set for 38400 baud.
See
RS-232 Ports
, for additional details on connecting the RS-232 port.
