•
3—Diagnostics for image 1 (initiates diagnostics for the primary image)
•
4—Diagnostics for image 2 (initiates diagnostics for the secondary image)
For example, to run diagnostics on the primary image, use the following command:
boot 3
When the test is finished, the MSM reboots and runs the XOS software.
Viewing Slot Diagnostics
To display the status of the last diagnostic test run on the switch, use the following command:
show diagnostics [msm-a | msm-b | slot <slot>]
Port Statistics
ExtremeWare XOS provides a facility for viewing port statistic information. The summary information
lists values for the current counter against each port on each operational module in the system, and it is
refreshed approximately every 2 seconds. Values are displayed to nine digits of accuracy.
To view port statistics, use the following command:
show ports <port_list> statistics
The switch collects the following port statistic information:
• Link Status—
The current status of the link. Options are:
—
Ready (the port is ready to accept a link).
—
Active (the link is present at this port).
• Transmitted Packet Count (Tx Pkt Count)—
The number of packets that have been successfully
transmitted by the port.
• Transmitted Byte Count (Tx Byte Count)—
The total number of data bytes successfully transmitted
by the port.
• Received Packet Count (Rx Pkt Count)—
The total number of good packets that have been received
by the port.
• Received Byte Count (RX Byte Count)—
The total number of bytes that were received by the port,
including bad or lost frames. This number includes bytes contained in the Frame Check Sequence
(FCS), but excludes bytes in the preamble.
• Received Broadcast (RX Bcast)—
The total number of frames received by the port that are addressed
to a broadcast address.
• Received Multicast (RX Mcast)—
The total number of frames received by the port that are addressed
to a multicast address.
