ANAGEMENT
Regardless of the communication interface used by the tape drive, there must
be some type of message system or command set in place that allows the tape
drive and the host system to manage the interface itself. This message system
or command set is separate from the SCSI command protocol used to control
the operation of the tape drive and is unique to each interface.
