2. Place the device on a level, solid and water and heat-resistant surface.
3. Connect the mains plug to a properly installed, easily accessible socket.
4. Before
fi
rst use, we recommend
fi
lling the water tank two to three times, each time al-
lowing the water to circulate (without coffee powder/beans) through the coffee maker
in order to rinse out the lines etc. and remove any production residue. To do so, follow
the safety notes in the chapter “Use” and the instructions in the section “Brewing cof-
fee with coffee powder”. Wait a few minutes before you repeat the cleaning process.
5. Once the device has cooled off, pull the permanent
fi
lter up and out of the device;
clean it and the glass pot either with warm water and a small amount of detergent
or in the dishwasher. Observe the notes in the chapter “Cleaning and decalcifying”!
6. Put the dry permanent
fi
lter back in the device.
Use
ATTENTION!
■
The device has overheat protection that prevents reactivation directly after the brew-
ing process for reasons of safety. Therefore, wait a few minutes after the brewing
process for the device to cool down before starting another brewing process.
■
Do not leave the device unattended so that you can immediately intervene in the
event of malfunctions (e.g. over
fl
owing etc.).
■
Before start-up, make sure that the cover is properly closed. Otherwise the device
will not switch on.
■
Caution: Risk of emitted steam! Never open the cover when the device is in use! Hot
steam or hot splash water may escape. If you open the cover, the device will auto-
matically switch off.
■
Do not add any water to a machine that is already on or which is still hot. You could
scald yourself with the sudden emission of steam.
■
Never use the device without water in the water tank. The pump could be damaged.
■

owing during oper-
ation.

After use, clean the device as described in the chapter “Cleaning and decalcifying”.
The coffee maker has a drip guard valve. You can also take the glass pot off of
the heating plate during the brewing process and pour yourself a cup of coffee.
But be careful: You should place the glass pot back on the heating plate within 20
seconds to prevent the permanent

lter from over

owing!

ing instructions in the following sections to do so.
