the awning for the first time, ensure that all
screws and bolts are fully tightened.

Extreme loads may exert high tensile forces on
the fixing screws. Please make sure that the
mounting surface can bear the load safely. If you
are unsure, please contact an installation profes-
sional.

The safe and danger-free use of the awning can
be guaranteed only if it is regularly checked and
maintained. The awning should be checked reg-
ularly for signs of wear or damage to the covering
and framework.
•
To avoid damage, do not extend the awning
when the wind is strong.
•
Use only suitable fixtures for installing the prod-
uct. The type and dimensions of the fixtures
depends on the type of masonry and the weight
of the product. Please ask a specialist to assist in
selecting the correct items.
•
Awnings are heavy. Make sure that the folding
arm awning is installed by at least two people.
•
Do not allow children or pets to play in the instal-
lation area during assembly.
•
Make sure that your hands remain clean during
the installation work in order to prevent soiling of
the awning cloth.
•
Plastic bags in the packaging may be dangerous
for infants. Keep children away to rule out any
risks.
•
Only use original spare parts. Only these
replacement parts are designed for the device
and therefore suitable. Other replacement parts
will not only lead to an invalidation of the war-
ranty, they may also endanger you and your envi-
ronment.
•
Children or any other persons, who are not in a
position to operate the product safely and care-
fully due to insufficient physical, psychic or sen-
sory conditions, are not allowed to use or mount
the product.

Always use the required personal safety equip-
ment.
•
Exercise caution and only work when in good
condition: If you are tired, ill, if you have ingested
alcohol, medication or illegal drugs, do not use
the product as you are not in a condition to use it
safely.
Qualification
•
The assembly instruction is meant for a qualified
technician who has thorough knowledge in the
followling areas:
– Occupational safety, operational safety and
accident prevention regulations
– Working with ladders and scaffolds
– Handling and transport of long, heavy compo-
nents
– working with tools and machines
– inserting fixing materials
– Evaluation of building structure (If you have
any questions, consult your dealer.)
– initial commissioning and operation of the

If one of this qualification is not available, then an
assembly firm with expertise in this field should
be commissioned to carry out the work.
Lifting with ropes
•
If the awming had to be lifted to upper area with
the help of ropes,then the awning
– should be removed from the packing,
– and connected with the ropes in such a way
that the ropes do not slip out
– and should be uniformly in horizontal position.
– Cordon off the area underneath airborne loads.
Mounting brackets
•
Before starting the assembly it should be
checked,
– if the mounting brackets supplied match with
the delivery scope in type and number,
– and if the specifications about the base made
at the time of ordering the product matches
with the actually delivered fixing base.

If any deviations are identified here which may
affect the safety, then the assembly of the prod-
uct should not be carried out.

Climbing aids
•
Mounting aids should not be leaned against the
awning or fixed. They must have a firm position
and offer sufficient support. Use only the climbing
aids that have sufficiently hight load-bearing
capacity.
Fall protection
•
When doing work at great heights there is the
hazard of falling down. Appropriate fall protection
measures should be used.
Uncontrolled operation
•
During manual operation the operating crank
must be taken of its hinges and kept safely.
Test run
•
When the awning is extended for the first time
there should not anyone in the area or under the
awning. The fixing materials and brackets should
be subjected to a visual inspection after extend-
ing the awning for first time.
Usage when there is wind
•
If the awning is assembled as per the regulations,
it satisfies the requirements of wind resistance
class as specified in the technical data (

The awning should be used only for wind speeds
declared in the wind resistance class.
