COMM-3 Communications Card
Description
The COMM-3 communications card is a communication input/output
port for the central processing units of the CM1(N), RMDP-1N, and
CM2(N). The card provides an RS-485 port for network
communications and an RS-232-C port for down loading program data
into the network CPU’s memories, as well as for the connection of
external devices such as printers or video annunciators. The card plugs
into the control module mother board. The RS-485 port is configurable
for either Class A or Class B wiring. The communications card also
contains the system clock.

Application
The COMM-3 communications card comes standard with the CM1(N),
RMDP-1N, and CM2(N), and is required for RS-485 network
communications.
