Network Controllers Manual
21
The CM2N-L is a limited address control module. The CM2N-L only
allows 14 addresses from the master controller. The additional
addresses are available for annunciators.
The CM2N is comprised of a control module motherboard, a display
panel, and the following plug in cards:
A. The CPU card which contains the controller microprocessor, system
firmware, RAM and EEPROM memory.
B. The communications card. Options include class A or B RS-485 or
serial loop network data lines. Serial data lines are available in 20
mA loop or fiber optic format. An RS-232 printer/program port is
also provided on each communications card.
C. Option Cards. A selection of system input and output cards is
available in a number of configurations.
The CM2N circuitry is housed in a protective cover, which contains the
basic system operating instructions and diagnostic codes.
Application
The CM2N's provide the control functions remote from the master
controller. A variety of network communication formats is available to
meet many applications. The CM2N's operate in a true networked
fashion, with copies of system definitions and operating instructions
located within their memories.
A variety of option modules are available to customize the function of
each CM2N. Available modules include:
• Network Communications Cards
• Intelligent Analog Sensor and control cards
• Supervised Input Cards
• Supervised Audio, Control and Signal Circuits
When using the verified alarm feature, all CM2N’s with verified points
MUST directly supervise a PS4/8B. This is done via the gray ribbon
cable connection between the CM2N and the power supply.
