The Admin panel

The Admin panel

VGADVI Recorder Pro is managed from a web interface. This means to perform administrative tasks with 
VGADVI Recorder Pro you use an internet browser on a PC (or laptop, or tablet) connected to the same local 
Ethernet network.

Connect to the Admin panel

If you know the IP address of the system you may type it into the address bar of your web browser.

http://<IP Address of the VGADVI Recorder Pro>/admin

However if this is the first time you access your system, you likely don't know the IP address, so you can use 
one of the following connection methods:

For networks with DHCP use one of the following procedures:

Connect via DNS-based service discovery

 

l

Connect via the Epiphan discovery utility

For networks without DHCP, use the following procedure:

 

l

Connect via persistent static IP address

You can also connect to Epiphan Live – a simple and easy to use web and tablet interface for 
confidence monitoring, streaming/recording control and live switching operation. See 

Epiphan 

Live

 for more information.

Connect via DNS-based service discovery

The VGADVI Recorder Pro uses DNS-based messages to advertise details about itself, including its host name. 
With a compatible utility installed on your computer, you can access the system simply by typing its serial 
number and the suffix “.local” into the address bar of your browser.

To ensure you have compatible software, refer to the following table.
