XSR Getting Started Guide A-5
Ethernet Ports
The
XSR
comes
equipped
with
two
Ethernet
(LAN)
ports
that
support
full
‐
duplex
10
or
100
Mbps
transmission.
Both
ports
conform
to
IEEE
802.3
standards
with
8
‐
pin
modular
RJ
‐
45
connectors.
A
cross
‐
over
cable
is
used
to
connect
the
XSR
directly
to
a
PC
or
uplink
port
while
a
straight
‐
through
cable
is
used
to
attach
the
router
to
a
hub
or
switch.

provide
interfaces
for
half

transmission
over
LAN
or
WAN
networks,
respectively.
The
Copper
Ethernet
NIM
incorporates
a
standard

interface.
Both
NIMs
conform
to
IEEE
802.3
and
PCI
2.2
standards.
