Entek IRD 6652 DSP Protection Monitor
35
TRANS submenu
The TRANS submenu has the following options. Note that these options apply to transient
monitoring for both channels. Transient monitoring captures the 1x, 2x, and 3x magnitude
and phase at defined RPM intervals (with a minimum machine speed change of 8 RPM).
CHECK TRANS RPM RANGE message
If you see the “CHECK TRANS RPM RANGE” message when you try to exit the TRANS
submenu, it means that you have chosen a setting for LO RPM that is greater than the setting
for HI RPM. You cannot exit the TRANS submenu until the setting for LO RPM is less than
that for HI RPM.
You can retrieve any of this data from the monitor using the MODBUS protocol through a
4-wire multi-drop serial interface. MODBUS communications are described in the manual
on 6600 monitor communications.
For more information on transient monitoring, see “Understanding Transient Monitoring”
on page 39.

SET
HI RPM
Choose the maximum RPM for transient monitoring (1–18000).
LO RPM
Choose the minimum RPM for transient monitoring (1–17999).
TYPE
Choose the type of transient monitoring:
l
D RPM - The 6652 DSP collects magnitude and phase values at defined
RPM intervals. The 6652 DSP determines the RPM intervals by
dividing the RPM range by the number of STEPS.
l
DISABLE - Turns off transient monitoring.
STEPS
Choose the number of steps between the HI RPM and the LO RPM
(1–300). The minimum change in machine speed between steps is 8 RPM.
EVENT
This option is not yet available.
EXIT
Return to the ANALYSE submenu. The monitor remembers the current
values for menu options, but does not write them to memory until you exit
the Factory menu.
