Configuration
Entek IRD 6652 DSP Protection Monitor
27
Note:
Make sure you do not choose mil, µm, mm, or °rot for the UNITS option. These units do not
apply to the 6652 DSP. If you choose one of these units, the ALARM status message
appears, and cannot be cleared. In addition, the monitor display shows both the HI and the
LO alarms. Do not choose mbar rms or mbar pk for the UNITS option. These are for future
enhancements.
OUT OF RANGE message
If you see the “OUT OF RANGE” message when you try to exit the RANGE submenu, it
means that you have chosen a configuration that is outside the dynamic range of the
monitor. You cannot exit the RANGE submenu until you choose a valid configuration.
This message is often caused by setting the TX SNS, MX SIG (TX 1 or TX 2 submenu),
and/or FS HI (SCALE 1 or SCALE 2 submenu), too high (too many volts). too high (too
many volts).
TX 1 and TX 2 submenus
The TX 1 and TX 2 submenus have the following options. The options are the same in the
two menus. TX 1 contains the channel 1 options. TX 2 contains the channel 2 options.
Note:
Make sure you do not choose mV/g, mV/mm/sec, mV/ins/s, or mV/°rot for the TX UNT
option. These units do not apply to the 6652 DSP. Do not choose mV/psi for the TX UNT
option. This unit is for future enhancements.
HP FLT 1
Choose the high pass filter (1.0–40000.0 Hz) for the overall amplitude that
appears in the monitor display and is tested against the alarm levels.
NOISE 1
Choose the noise floor level (0.0–5.0%) as a percentage of the SCALE
value. When the input signal is less than this level, the monitor displays 0
(zero) for the channel. This is often used to zero out the display when the
monitored machine is not running.
EXIT
Return to the RANGES submenu. The monitor remembers the current
values for menu options, but does not write them to memory until you exit
the Factory menu.

SET
TX1 UNT
Choose the native transducer input units (mV/mil, mV/µm, mV/mm,
mV/ins).
TX1 SNS
Choose the transducer sensitivity (in 0.01 mV/eu increments).
MX SIG1
Choose the maximum expected signal input to the monitor (0.1–99999.9).
This is in the transducer engineering units peak-to-peak. Note that this
does not set the full scale for the monitor. See “Setting MX SIG” below
this table.
GAIN 1
Choose the input signal gain (0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16). Leave this option at
0.25 except under the direction of an Entek IRD Support or Field Service
person.
EXIT
Return to the RANGE1 submenu. The monitor remembers the current
values for menu options, but does not write them to memory until you exit
the Factory menu.
