Pilot Assist mode
For Pilot Assist mode, do everything outlined in Mapping mode, and then continue as follows:
Press the Navigation Method button to set the primary and secondary navigation methods.
For outdoor areas with unobstructed GPS: Select GPS as your primary method, and SLAM
as your backup method.
For outdoor areas with obstructed GPS (for example, under a bridge): Select SLAM as
your primary method, and GPS as your backup method.
In GPS-denied environments: Select SLAM as your primary method, and HVM INS as your
backup method.
Press the VESH button to set the desired VESH limits and the collision avoidance/auto-enable at
takeoff parameter.
Set the flight mode switch to Hovermap mode.
Observe the Hovermap status bar for notifications:
Remedy any notifications as required. For more information on notifications, refer to the
Emergency Procedures section.
Ready (SLAM) (if SLAM is your primary navigation mode) or Ready (GPS) (if GPS is your
primary navigation mode) should appear.
You should hear the “Hovermap ready” audio.
Once the Ready status appears, ensure that the flight mode switch is in the Hovermap position
and then arm the motors. They should start to spin.
Check the Hovermap status bar for notifications:
Assisted (SLAM) (if SLAM is your primary navigation mode) or Assisted (GPS) (if GPS is your
primary navigation mode).
If the Assisted status is not achieved, shut down the motors and perform troubleshooting.
Do not take off , as there may be a problem within the system.
You should hear the “assisted mode” audio.
