MAIN FUNCTIONS
Master actions
Main Master actions:
-
Regulation management
The master communicates to each single slave (from 2 to up to 10 slaves):
o
Operation mode: cooling or heating
o
How many power steps must be turned on
-
Defrost management
The master acquiring defrost request coming from each slave, manages the queue of the slave that
must defrost, in order to allow only one unit in defrost at every time
-
Alarm and notification management
The master, reading the status of each slave, manages all the units to guarantee the right operation
of the system. If a unit is on alarm, then not available for the regulation, the Master verify if there are
units in st-by and activate one of them to compensate
-
Special functions
The Master can actuate some special functions, if enabled by setting dedicated parameters, like
power limiter and overboost (see description in paragraphs below).
The Master can manage, if enabled for this, plant water pumps and plant probes
Slave configuration / actions
Slave actions:
-
When the Master enables a slave, it turns on the number of compressors that the Master requires
and manages all the resources that are configured in the unit (condenser fan, water pump, etc.)
-
When the slave detects the conditions to defrost, it waits the Master authorization before starting
it. In case of forced defrost, the slave actuates immediately the defrost without Master
authorization.
Slave configuration:
-
The regulation type, proportional or neutral band, is defined in Master configuration; the Master
overwrites the correspondant parameter of each Ichill
-
The regulation mode (only chiller, only heat pump or c heat pump) is defined in Master
configuration; the Master overwrites the correspondant parameter of each Ichill
-
The working mode (summer / winter) will be defined by the master and distributes to each Ichill
-
The regulation probe is defined in Master configuration; the Master overwrites the correspondant
parameter of each Ichill
-
The set points and the bands for both chiller and heat pump will be overwrited by the master
-
The number of active power steps will be decided by the master; the iChill, according to selected
internal configuration, hestablish which compressor has to be activated
-
The iChill communicates to the Master:
o
the total number of power steps, total number of active steps, total number of not
available steps (compressor in maintenance, compressor on alarm, etc.)
o
value of the NTC evaporator inlet probe, value of the NTC evaporator outlet probe, value of
the NTC condenser inlet probe, value of the NTC condenser outlet probe (only configured
probes)
o
water pump status
o
average working hours and start-up of its resources
