Step 13
Connect the DL server SAN/tape library ports
In a default DL4106 configuration, the DL server FC ports 1, 3, 7, and 11 are available
for storage area network (SAN) connections (target mode).
The DL4106 default configuration also provides four FC ports (4, 5, 8 and 9) for
physical tape library connections (initiator mode, which supports only SAN attached
tape).
Ports 1, 3, 7 and 11 and ports 4, 5, 8 and 9 are flexible-use ports that you can
interchange and use as target ports for SAN connections or initiator ports for
connection to the physical tape libraries.
For information on host-connectivity, refer to the EMC Disk Library 4000-Series Service
Guide.
To change a flexible-use port from target mode to initiator mode:
1. In the Disk Library Console, select Physical Resources > Storage HBAs
and
right-click QLogic Adapter.x (where x is 1, 3, 7, or 11).
2. Select Disable Target Mode, and click OK.
