The Memory and Overlay
tab has a check
box that can enable or disable the use of Ex-
panded Memory, if installed. The remaining
settings apply to the application of an Overlay
Varnish. Note that varnish panels do not exist
on all ribbons, only on those with multiple pan-
els.
The black area in this tab indicates where var-
nish gets applied. By changing the dot values
that appear to the right of this area, the area to
receive varnish can be changed. Note that the
card origin lies at the upper left corner and that
dot values correspond to 300 dots per inch.
Users can select preestablished varnish map-
ping for smart cards and magnetic stripe cards
by clicking on the radio buttons below the
black area. Further down appear selections
that implement importation of a bit map that
defines varnish mapping. Any bit map im-
ported should be black and white, where black
prescribes varnish and white prescribes no var-
nish. Note that the initially all-black area
changes to reflect other selected mappings.
