Number of connections
This field specifies how often a user's action led to the establishment of
a connection.
4.8.1
Configuring accounting
Settings for accounting are found under
/Setup/Accounting
. From
there, you can enable or disable accounting and enable storage to flash ROM.
Furthermore, you can influence the sorting of the accumulated table based
online time or transfer volume.
4.8.2
Reading the accounting data
ELSA LANmonitor
provides the means of viewing the listed data. It also
allows you to save the data to a file on a drive.
The listed data can also be called up using Telnet access under
/Setup/Accounting
.
Organized by user name and remote site, the following information is listed:
Username
The name of the user or his or her layer-3 address (IP address, IPX address
or, in bridge mode, the MAC address again)
Remote site
The remote site with which the user exchanged data
Connection type
Type of connection
Rx-bytes, Tx-bytes
Data volumes on the interface
