Quickstart
The following steps should help you get your device running quickly and eas-
ily. Choose from three different installation scenarios:
The TCP/IP protocol is installed on the system and there is no DHCP
server on the LAN
In this case, the
LANCOM
activates the DHCP server in automatic mode. It
assigns IP addresses in the range of 10.x.x.x. You can assign a fixed IP
address to the
LANCOM
or let it be assigned automatically. In the later case,
the
LANCOM
is assigned the address 10.0.0.1.
The TCP/IP protocol is installed on the system and there is already a
DHCP server on the LAN
The
LANCOM
acquires its IP address from the DHCP server on the LAN.
LAN-
config
finds the
LANCOM
at its address. The setup wizard asks for a static
IP address. Because the address is previously unknown, you cannot access
the
LANCOM
using
WEBconfig
.
The TCP/IP protocol is installed on the system with a fixed IP
address
In this case,
LANconfig
finds
LANCOM
at the client computer's address,
which ends in 254 (x.x.x.254). The setup wizard asks for a static IP address.
