SNAP - IN PORT SYSTEM
WINTERIZING YOUR WATER SYSTEM
To w i nter i ze, i t i s not necessary to dra i n the water from
the ent i re water system . Blow i ng i nto the l i nes to remove
the water from your water system i s not sat i sfactory due
to the check valve mechan i sm bu i lt i nto the pump .
Follow these steps to remove all water from your water
system
:
1 . Dra i n water by open i ng tank dra i n, or open a f i xture to
allow pump to operate unt i l tank i s dry .
2 . Open the lowest outlet i n water system to dra i n l i nes .
3 . To remove any rema i n i ng water (about a cup), remove
outlet hose on pump and act i vate pump . To blow out
l i nes, attach a i r nozzle where outlet hose was
removed . Make sure all f i xtures are open before start i ng .
4 . Your water system i s now w i nter i zed . Don ’ t forget to
reattach the outlet hose to pump and close all f i xtures .
PAR - MAX pumps have thermal overload protected motors . The motor w i ll automat i cally shut off as
temperature r i ses due to an overload cond i t i on . If the motor shuts off i n th i s manner, close all nozzles, faucets or
valves . After a cool i ng off per i od, the pump w i ll automat i cally re - start .
DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE TYPE ANTI - FREEZE . IT IS POISONOUS . USE OF THIS TYPE ANTI -
FREEZE WILL CAUSE SERIOUS INTERNAL INJURY OR DEATH .
