front from the support bracket in the tip section; afterward
reinsert it into the rear of the two support brackets only (Fig. 9b).
Then slide the heel part back on and adjust it as described
above.
Assembly and adjustment of the bond:
Both the heel bracket and the tip bracket can be fi xed in different
positions on the crampon to achieve optimum positioning of the
boot as shown in Fig. 5a – f.
For semi or auto bond, maximum press-on pressure can be
achieved using the adjusting screw in the heel lever (Fig. 10a
– c).
With all bonds, the tip bond can be changed from soft or semi
bond to auto bond by removing the plastic part from the tip
bracket and fi ddling it from the strap loops. (Fig. 11)
On the “Shark” model, the heel bond can be changed from soft
to semi or auto bond by replacing the bonding parts. The
brackets must be fl ipped inward and can then be detached or
attached from the right side. (Fig. 12a – b)
With all bonds, the straps must be attached and tensioned as
shown in Fig. 3a – c. The strap ends should be secured (by knots,
pushing into the shoe's edge or below the gaiter) to prevent
stepping on them or stumbling over them.
For soft bonding, the strap loop fi rst must be fed through the eye
in the tip bond, then through the eye in the heel bond on the
opposite side of the buckle. Guide the strap loop back to the
buckle across the side of the foot and fasten it (Fig. 13).
Fiddling the strap through the buckle and fastening it see Fig. 14.
How to ensure the crampons are fi rmly connected to the boot:
To ensure the crampons are fi rmly connected to the boot,
hit the fl oor with the front, rear, inner and outer tips on
each side. The crampons must not move on the boot. (Fig. 15)
The “Beast” model can be changed from duo to mono-tips by
loosening the locking screw, then plugging the front tip in the
desired position and retightening the locking screw (Fig. 16).
The front tip cannot be installed inclined, but only in the straight
hole-groove combinations! To prevent loosening of the tips, we
recommend assembling the screws with medium-strength
securing.
Before use, all screwed joints must be checked for proper
tightening.
All adjustable parts must be checked regularly during use.
Attention
: Snowballing (sticking of snow) below the crampons is
uncomfortable and dangerous; in worst cases it may lead to
falling. Therefore always use all crampons with anti-snowballing
plates!
