AND CARE
Notes concerning application, safety, servicelife, storage and
maintenance
This product is part of personal protective equipment for
protection from slipping (PPE) and should be allocated to one
person only.
These instructions for use contain important notes regarding the
product, which must have been understood by the user before
actual use.
The reseller must provide this document in the language spoken
in the country of use and it must be kept together with the
equipment during the entire servicelife.
Application notes
The following application notes must be carefully read and
observed. This product has been designed specifically for
mountaineering, climbing and work at a height or depth, but
cannot remove all risk personally incurred by its users.
Mountaineering, climbing as well as working at a height or depth
often entail risks that cannot be detected and hazards from
external influences. Accidents cannot be excluded. Maximum
safety during mountaineering, climbing and working at a height
or depth can only be achieved when proper use of equipment
conforming to the requirements is guaranteed. Detailed,
comprehensive information may be researched from the
applicable literature. The following instructions for use are
important to ensure proper practical application. However, they
can never substitute for experience, responsible action and
knowledge concerning the hazards entailed in mountaineering,
climbing and working at a height or depth, and they will not free
users from the risk born personally. Only trained, experienced
persons or persons properly supervised may use the equipment.
Before using the equipment for the first time, the user must
familiarize with its use in safe surroundings.
The user should be aware that deficient bodily or mental health
may impair safety of normal application and in emergency
situations.
Before using the equipment, the user must familiarize himself
with procedures for safe and effective rescue.
The manufacturer does not accept any liability for abuse or
misuse. In such cases the responsibility and risk lie with the
users or persons responsible for the operation.
Product specific notes
Application range of crampons: Slippery, snow-covered and ice-
covered ground; Alpine and high mountain areas, such as
glaciers, iced water falls, mixed climbing terrain, ice and firn
slopes.
The product is meant to prevent slipping or as an aid for climbing
in steep ice. Select the product suitable for the application
(Fig. 1).
