Managing Well Data and Information
Acoustic records and well information are stored in the memory of the Echometer Model H in a data base
organized into
Groups
that contain
Wells
that contain
Shots
. The user navigates through the data base using
the 5 button star keypad after having selected either
Acquire
or
Recall
acoustic Data in the
Main
screen.
The following section illustrates how to enter new groups and well data using the stand alone instrument.
Entering New Group of Wells
The user should decide how to organize the wells into some logical number of groups although it is possible to
assign all the wells to a single group.
The name of a group may consist of up to 20 characters and include letters, numbers and spaces. The following
figure illustrates various group names as they appear on the screen after selecting the option “
Acquire Data
”
from the
Main
screen:
To create a new group of wells, press the button on the instrument panel below the label “
Add New Group
”. The
following screen is displayed for the user to enter the name of the new group by selecting individual characters
via the 5-button Star keypad.
