Step 11. Install The Manually Counterbalanced Front Work Surface
This step only applies to corner sit-to-stand desks with manually
counterbalanced front work surfaces (refer to column 5 in table
53). If your desk has a motorized front work surface, refer to steps 9 and 10 to learn how to install the work surface, and then
proceed to step 12.
The counterbalance mechanism will be packaged separately.
Disregard the instructions included with the mechanism and refer
to this manual for assembly and installation steps.
a.
Assemble the left and right arms and the cross tube with the washers and locknuts provided with the mechanism. Then
assemble nut covers onto the lock nuts.
b.
Place the counterbalance mechanism on the floor. Adjust the paddle and knobs until all four mounting brackets are
aligned and planar. Release the paddle and tighten the knobs.
c.
Assemble the mechanism to the rear work surface with the (16) long wood screws provided with the mechanism. DO
NOT OMIT ANY SCREWS.
d.
Position the front work surface onto the mechanism, aligning the threaded studs with the bracket holes. Use the nuts
and washers provided with the surface to secure it to the mechanism.
e.
Attach the height adjustment paddle assembly to the front work surface with the (8) short wood screws provided with
the mechanism.
